Ballaugh The last will & Testamt: of Philip Cowley who departed this life Aprill 30th 1674. First He committed his soul to God and his body to Christian buriall. It: he left to ye poore a mutton & what more the Executor should think good. It: to his daughter Averick a sheep & a lamb. It: to his daughtr Ann a sheep & a lamb; It: to his two grandchildren Jony & Margarett a sheep & a lamb. It: to his daughter Margrett a shee & a lamb. It: if there were another sheep & a lamb in his goods to be given to his son John. It: to his grandson Willm Corlett a yearling. It: to his daughter Jony a quartr: of a brewing pann & a woollen wheel. It: to his daughter Averick 4 shillings which was in son Thomas his custody; It: to his son John 3s 8d wch is likewise in ye sd Thomas his custody. It: to his daughter Averick a sheet to be paid to yem by Ellin Craine; It: to his daughter Ellin 1s wch was in her own hands; It: to Ellin Craine halfe a maire; It: an old maire wch he thought would not live he left to his sonnes John & Thomas. Item he acknowledged to be indebted to Jony Stean something but what it was he could not certainely tell, but left it to be paide by his executor. Lastly he constituted & ordained his son Thomas Cowley his lawfull executor of all the rest of his goods moveable & unmoveable.
