Archdeacon Will 1675A #172 Michael will of John Garrett, died 3 March 1675/6:  

Summary:  wife Ellin Cannell, siblings: John & Ellin & Henry (in Ireland) Garrett;   
also: Mr Christian & wife, John Cannon, Gilbert Callister, Robert Cannell, John Cannon, John Chirry / Kerry

Michaell March ye 9th 1675/6 the last will & testamt of John Carrett who depted this life ye third of this Instant being in perfect memory, first he bequeathed his soul to God & his body to Christian buriall It: he left to Mr Christian & his wife an iron pott wth his blessing. It: his pt of ye meal & corn wch would remaine after ye seeding he left to his wife Ellin Cannell; also he left to his said wife two sheep yt are in Ballarenney; Itm: he left to John Canon a hog. Itm: he left a sheep & a hog & two shillings yt was owing him from Gilbt: Calister towards satisfieing eight shillings he was indebted & ye Executr: to discharge ye remainder. Itm: he appointed 18d to be spent at Robt Cannells & 2s 6d at John Canons ye day of his buriall. Itm: he left to his Executors his pt of ye croft he held under Mr Christian during ye terme unexpired of ye setting he had from ye sd Mr Christian, if he & they could agree. Lastly he appointed and constituted his brother John & his sister Ellin Carret his lawfull Executors of all ye rest of his goods moveable & unmoveable with this proviso that if his brother Henry Carret in Ireland should come over to this Isle he was & is to be joing Executor with ye sd John & Ellin further he left to his sd wife ye ground of a penny rent & she to build a house thereon if one John Chiirey would put her out of ye house werein she now dwelleth on this to continue but during her life then to returne to ye Executors. Item he left to the sd Jo: Chiirey 2 yards of Russett cloth and a blankett in his wifes hand for the said John use if he stood in need therof. It: sd that the wife of shoemaker Carrett Kaughen had 14d worth of leather wch he left to the executor It: to Wm Teares daughter 6d legacie Testes John Canon jurati Hugh Cannell probatum et solvit 9d The Inventory of ye Defunct taken by ye Sumner & four sworn men amounts to (some debts being deducted) amounts to .........00£ - 19s - 00d ye executor sworne in Court and hath given in pledges in forme of law Wm Quayle and William Boy
