Archdeacon Will 1675A #173 Michael will of Gilbert Cowley, died 23 February 1675/6:  
Summary:  wife Margaret Garrett, 3 youngest children: Margaret & Ellin & Ann; 
older children: John & Daniel & Thomas

		K Michael  March ye 7th 1675/6

The last will & Testament of Gilbt Cowley who departed this life 
the 23d of february last being in perfect memory.    first he bequeathed 
his soul to God & his body to Christian buriall.   Itm: he left & appointed that 
ye remainder of ye corn after seeding should be best owed on ye maintenance 
of his wife & children.   Itm: he left a cow to discharge what debts was upon 
him.  Itm: he left to the three youngest children Margret, Ellin & Ann Cowley 
his daughters to each of them a sheep above ye rest of ye children.   Lastly he 
left all ye rest of his goods to his wife Margret Cowley als Carret with ye con----[edge]   
of his children  & bringing up of his sd youngest children (which said goods as much as ----[edge]   
are  belong to ye defunct ye sd Margret promiseth to give & equally distribute ----[edge]   
among all ye children at her latter day or sooner as she shall find cause for ye same ----[edge]   
constituting his said wife his lawfull Executor

This will is proved with ye consent of John & Donll Cowle
in the face of the Court, & in case Tho:  Cowly appeares 
not to consent to ys will with rest, hee is then to be joynt

		Cowley being at lawfull yeares have consented to this will of their father as 
		witnesse their signe manuall ye day & year above written
