1704 Composition Book, Castletown cottages:  Ref. 153 / folio 45;  MR# 109; Name: Christian the widow of Tho Waterson 
and his exors;  Description: for their dwelling house and garden adjoining to widow Kewley's 4d and another house and 
garden adjoining to Cross's 6d. all 10d 7d whereof was compounded for in 1643 by Rich Waterson. Fine for this said 7d 
was 2s 4d. Lives expired so now to pay.  23 July 1740 The setting quest (all parties present and consenting) say that 
there is only a house and no garden joining to Cross's - the setting book to be regulated accordingly;    Fine:  0.2.4

This is afirmed to be the last will & testament of Ellin Corrin als Waterson who departed this life the 7th die of Januarie 1676 ffirst she bequeathed her soule to God & her body to Christian buriall; Itt: she bequeathed to ye poore of Duglas five shillings legasie; Itt: she bequeathed to Alice Jordain her mother in law a little apron. Itt: she bequeathed to Patrick Smiths wife a browne quoife[?] wth two coats and a linnin apron with runing strings in it; Itt: she bequeathed to Patrick Smiths eldest daughter two petticoats wch she wore every day wth one suite of linnen; Itt: she bequeathed to Jaine Christian daughter to David Christian one pinner Itt: she bequeathed to her ffather Richard Waterson: her half brother Thomas Waterson and her Auntes two daughters sixpence apieece legasie to cutt them of from troubleing her husband & children; Itt: she left three suits of wearing cloathes wth her husband: whom she desired to keepe them safe until her daughter were able to use them & then the sd cloathes to be delivered to her sd daughter: all the rest of her pte of goods of what kind or nature soe ever she bequeathed to her husband and her two children viz: Alice and William equally between them and if it should please God to call for both her sd children in theire minority then all her above pte of goods to be due unto her sd husband: whom she leaves whole guardian of her sd two children: hopeing that he will be a carefull & loveing ffather to them;
