Archdeacon Will 1678A #60 Andreas will of William Christian, died March 1679, 
per Articles of Marriage dated 13 February 1674/5, between daughter Bahie Christian and Robert Cannell:

Articles of marrage condescended concluded & agreed upon betwixt Wm Christian & his wife Margt Christian alis Cross, for & in the behalfe of his daughter Bahey Christian on the one pte, & Robt: Cannell one the other pt as followeth ffirst it is condiscended concluded & agreed upon betwixt all the above saide parties, yt hee the said Robt: Cannell & Baheey Christian shall come to the pish of St Andreas at or before the first of May next ensueinge the date hereof & there, & then to joyne togeather in the holy estate of matrimonie Gods luwes[?] & his church pmitinge in the penaltie of fortie pounds sterlinge the one halfe to the honorbl: Lord of the Soyle, & the other half to the ptie pforming covenant to be Levied & raised out of the goods of him the said Willm: & Mareg, or robt: if each of ym pforme not secondly it is condiscended, concluded, & agreed upon, betwixt all the saide pties, yt the saide Willm: & Margt shall & doth give at this present contract, unto him the saide Robt: & Baheey Christian in Dowrie or portion with the said Baheey, ye one halfe of all there goods wtsoever moveable & unmoveable, wth halfe the crope of corne; & at the decease of the first of them the saide Willm: & Baheey another quarter of all ye goods & Lands of wt nature soever wth a quarter of theire pt of ye crope Thirdly it is condescended, concluded & agreed upon betwixt all the abovsaide pties, yt hee the said Robt: Cannell shall give at his prsent unto ym the said Willm: & Margt the one halfe of all such goods & Lands as hee now enjoyeth of wt nature soever: except one heffer, & the increase yt shall come of her, wch is to fall to him the said Robt: & Baheey or yr Issue soly: Allwayes provided that they the said Willm: & Margt Robt: & Baheey are to keepe one hous, one ficainge[?] one meate & drinke duringe the onger liver of them the said Willm: & Margt, the pson soe liveinge of them two, to have power to keepe possess & dispose of the other quarter of all yr goods of wt nature soever as above said at the discease of the longer liver of them the said Willm Margt: provided that the portione given to ye yong coople, is to ym & yr Issue hee the said Robt, is to have yeerely out of the whole one quart of hempt as long as the old coople liveth: provided allwayes yt wt proffit may arise out of Land, & all theire labors, shall bee equally betwixt ym, the said Willm: & Margt; robert & Baheey, except wt before excepted, & for the better pformance of all, & singuler the prmisses, all the pties above men----[edge] have bound ymselves in the penaltie above saide & puts to theire names & ----[edge] this 13th of feb: 1674/5: the said Willm: Christian & Robt: is to acknowledgeth this con----[edge] before the Dymster & have his confirmation hereunto in the ----[edge] naltie abovesaid: within a fortnight after ye date hereof ----[edge] witnesses Willm: Christian his mark W John Lace senior X Margt: Crosse her mark M Donll: Cowine D Robt: Cannell his mark R Tho: Cowle T Baheey Christian her mark B Joh: Cotter X May the 5th 1676 The wittnesses to the wthin Contract vidz: Thomas Cowle and John Cottier (Daniell Cowne being dead and Jo: Lace n----[edge] comitted to Peel Castle) have deposed the same to be true ----[edge] every particular as wthin written, before me Edw: Chri----[edge] [written on the back of the above:] At K Andr: March ye xth before Sr Jon: Harrisson & Sr P Thomp----[fold] This Contract is accepted off as the last will of Willm: Christian he haveing none other goods but what is expressed to and settled upon his son in law in the sd Contract, who is sworn Admr and to pay all debts due from his sd father p Acceptum et approbatum Solvit xijd [next page:] Andrs: March 1678 The last will & Testamt: of Willm: Christian who being whole in mind and of pfect memory comitted his soule to God and his body to Xtian buriall; It: he left to ye poor dj firlett ----[edge] and 3s to be bestowed in drink, It: to ye minister a mutton, It: to Dan: Keneen 6d; It: to his son in law & daughter four pottles of arley, and constituted & ordained his wife sole executor of all ye rest of his goods moveable & unmoveable Testes John Christian Dan: Keneen Salvo tamen vincuig This will is made void by reason of a suo jure Contract bargain given by the Testatr: to his son in law Robrt: Canell, anexed to this will and proved before ye Deemster as appears
