Will of Esther Cretney 1759-2, Marown Will number A42 0106222 This is affirmed to be the last Will and Testament of Esther Cretney of the Parish of Marown who departed this life about the sixteenth of April 1759. Firstly she committed her soul to God and her body to decent Christian burial. She left and bequeathed to her Daughter Ann twelve pounds current money of the Isle and half of the pewter. To her dear husband half of a feather bed. To her daughters Ann and Margaret all her apparel equally between them. To Wm Arthure forty shillings. To her grandchildren viz. John, Wm, Thos. and Cathrine Cottier one sheep each. And sixpence Legacy to any other that claims Right or Title to her effects. Lastly she named and appointed her children, viz. John, Wm. Thos. Margaret and Ann Cretney sole executors of this her last Will and Testament. Made in the presence of us the subscribing witnesses. John Christian James Clague At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas May 28th 1759 The execs. are sworn in Court in form of Law, and hath given pledges for payment of Debts and Legacies. Namely Revd.
