KEWN, Charles 1808 Douglas A 19 0106236 1808/Arch 19. In the name of God amen This is affirmed to be the last Will and Testament of Charles Kewn Senr of the town of Douglas made and declared in our presence the 10th day of June 1807 he being in perfect mind and memory at the making thereof as follows: First he committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Item He left and bequeathed to his grand daughter Ellinor the wife of William Cowin half a crown Legacy ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Item He left and bequeathed to his son Charles Kewn his big coat and half a crown Legacy ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Item He left and bequeathed to all the rest of his children namely Robert Kewn James Kewn and to his daughter Jane the wife of Thomas Clucas half a crown each Legacy ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Lastly He nominated constituted and appointed his daughter Margaret the wife of John Clark sole and whole Executrix of all the rest of his goods and effects moveable and immoveable of what species or denomination soever disannulling and revoking all and every other will made by him previous to this day ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Charles Kewn his X Witnesses present Thomas Karran John Karran } jur At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas 21st June 1808 John Clark husband of the within named Jane(sic*) is sworn extr in Court in form of Law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts viz the witnesses to the will Probatum est.
