MOORE, Edward 1808 Douglas A 26 0106236 26. In the name of God Amen I Edward Moore Senr of Douglas and Elizabeth M[blotted and illegible] my wife considering the uncertainty of human life being both of perfect mind and sound memory do make this our last Will and Testament in manner and form following; First We commend our soul into the hands of God and our bodies to private Christian burial to be interred by and close to the grave of our late worthy uncle Revd Philip Moore six feet deep to contain us both when please God it may be wanted. Item We leave and bequeath to each of our three children Edwd, Elizth and James Moore each a guinea or a mourning ring. Lastly We constitute and appoint the survivor of us sole executor and administrator of all the rest of our goods credits chattels & effects moveable and immovable of what kind or nature soever. In witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names this six day of Septemb one thousand eight hundred and five 1805 Witnesses I leave to our daughter Elizabeth all my wearing apparel of every kind useful and ornamental and after the demise of the survivor of us, she may be sole Executrix of all that we possess hoping our dear sons will have no objection she having spent the prime of life in the care of us, her aged parents who did not place her in a way to get a livelihood for herself or any other way provide for and the little we have not worth dividing except such books as my dear sons Edward and James shall chose for the education of my Grandsons.
