The war grave of N86237 Sapper William Robert E. Brew, A.C.M.F. 52 A. A. S/L Coy., Royal Australian Engineers, who died on 11 July 1941, aged 22, is located in Botany Cemetery in Sydney, Australia, in the Roman Catholic Section CC, Row 8, Grave 623 (Certificate 1941/16206). 

William, who was born in 1918 (Certificate 1918/38812), was the son of William George and Mary Ann Brew (nee Tobin), of Edgecliffe, N.S.W.; he was not married.

Botany General Cemetery is 8 miles from Sydney, between Bunnerong Road, Military Road and Koorooera Avenue in Botany, and is a mile north of the outer suburb of La Perouse. There are 142 casualties of the 1939-1945 War buried in this cemetery. This figure is made up by 7 sailors, 118 soldiers and 15 airmen belonging to the Australian forces 1 soldier belonging to the New Zealand forces and 1 man of the Netherlands Merchant Navy. The graves are located in different sections of the cemetery.
