SEE: Archdeacon Wills, undated Petition [found after ArW 1698A #31 Michael] of William Christian of KK Michael, whose wife Margaret Garrett was left a parcel of land
by her aunt Margaret Clark alias Cowley, who left her husband Robert Clark and died in Ireland, Ann Christian & Mrs Margaret Christian (who had been in England) were
also mentioned: NOTE: See the below will summaries. It appears that the husband of Margaret Clark alias Cowley, Robert Clark, was persona non grata with her family,
for he was never mentioned in their wills, which supports her going to Ireland to maybe get away from him, and dying there. The will she left does not mention any of
her family, only her husband and children, which suspiciously suggests the husband's control over the will. The husband Robert contended that, because his wife
Margaret 'deserted' him by going to Ireland, she forfeited her wife's part to the accumulated goods, but there was no such Manx law or custom, and William sued for
the land Robert's wife Margaret Cowley had left William's wife Margaret Garrett. Summary: William married Margaret Garrett, daughter of Philip Garrett & Bessy
Cowley, & Bessy was the sister of Margaret Cowley who married Robert Clark. I do not know where Ann Christian & Mrs Margaret Christian fit in.
