Archdeacon Will 1687A #68 Michael will of William Caine of BallaGawne, had a mill, bought land from Henry Woods & mother, died 30 January 1687/8: 
Summary: wife Joney Caine alias Christian is alive [died 1708/9, ArW 1708A #56 Michael], only daughter Margaret Caine (of age in 1695 [married William Corlett in

alias Fargher sold it to William Caine of Glannegay[?], & William Caine was entered for this 16d rent, being a certain meadow called Croaghan's Meadow, 
in 1667, NOTE, Henry Woods married to Mary Fargher on 4 May 1671 in Malew parish.
Self & etc: 1668 Liber Vastarum, Michael: Henry Woods & & wife Margaret (sic, Mary) Fargher had rent of 19 1/2d in Arykorkell treen, and sold the 19 1/2d rent to 
William Caine of Glannegaij, being for 3 daymoths of hay, NOTE, Henry Woods married to Mary Fargher on 4 May 1671 in Malew parish.
1675 Liber Vastarum, Michael: Henry Woods had farmland in Aryhorkell treen & he & his wife Mary Fargher sold a meadow called Croghan's meadow of 16d rent to 
William Caine who was entered for the 16d rent in 1675, NOTE, Henry Woods married to Mary Fargher on 4 May 1671 in Malew parish.
Will of wife: ArW 1708A #56 Michael will of Joney Caine alias Christian, died about 22 January 1708/9, intestate: 56, KK Michael: Jony Cain Als Xtian departed this 
life about the 22nd of January 1708 intestate, whereupon the Court hath decreed her only daughter Margt: Curlot als Cain  her true & sole Admrx: of all her goods 
movable & immovable, and Wm Curlot her husband is sworn in Court in form of Law.  Decretum est et solvit.  Pledges to secure ye office & pay all Debts are Thomas 
Curlot his brother & Charles Kaighin.
?Mention of father: 1669 Liber Vastarum, Michael: Henry Woods had farmland of 2s 8d in Arcorkill treen, and John Woods had 42d rent, and John Croghan had 16d years 
rent, and Woods & Croghan were withdrawn and John Kelly entered for 2s 4d, with the land declared intack land and not farmland. See the depositions & report of the 
jury, dated 7 February 1668/9: Wee whose names are subscribed beinge appoynted and sworn as us[ual]vitue of the worll Governr and Deemster Christian theire authority 
A jury to take prasses and examinations & to inquire whether the 4s uppon the name of hen woods and ye 42d upon ye name of John Croughan in the settinge booke 
included in ye quarterland in ye treene of Arikorkill is Intacke or Quarterland; first we finde that it is intacke by the lease of the same and futher it appears by 
a coppie record yt it is Cottage and likewise by the Oathes of severall depositions.  Daniell Cannell aged eithtie years or thereabouts sworne and examined saith that 
it is intacke and single rent and further saith yt he was in place where old John Cayne of Balla Gawne proved it before the comissioners  Gilbert Croughan aged tree 
score years and seaven [67] sworne and  examined saith accordinge to the former deponent in everie  particular and further saith not.  Adam Corlett aged eithtie years 
or thereabout sworne and examined saith that he ever hard say duringe his tyme that it was intack and single rent. John Gawne sworne and examined saith accordinge to 
the former deponent in everie particular and further saith not Therefore we give ror answer yt the sd 4s uppon the name of Hen: Woods and the 42d uppon the name of 
John Croughan ought to be placed with the intacks in the settinge booke and to witness this to be our verdicte we have hereunto sett our names and usual markes this

Kirk Michaell 1687/8 The last will and Testamt: of William Caine of BallaGawne who departed this liffe the 30th day of January Anno 1687/ ffirst he committed his soule to Almighty God and his bodie to Christian Buriall; Itm: hee left to his onely daughter Margrett Caine ffourty & five poundes; And if God did call for his said daughter before shee came to Lawfull yeares, hee left the sd 5£ to his wiffe; Itm: hee left alsoe to his sd daughter halfe of his pte of the teame of oxen and halfe of his pte of the crop of corne, And all his pte of the two daymothes of hay ground wch hee and his wiffe bought from Henry Woods and his mother, And his sd wiffe hath given her conssent to give her part of the sd two day moths of hay ground to their sd: daughter Margt: after her own decease if she doe live to inherit it; and that in regard ---- was left to her if her sd Daughter did not live till shee came to Lawfull yeares; Itm: he left to his brother Pattr: Cayne 2s 6d Legasie; Itm: hee left to his brother John Cayne 2s 6d Legasie; Itm: hee left to his bro: Adam Caine 2s 6d Legasie; Itm: he made mencon that there was due to them from his brother Pattr: Cayne 24s, and also said that there was moneyes due to them from Jo: Caine Glower and otheres, but was best knowne to his wiffe how much it was; Itm: hee constitute and appoynted his wiffe Jony Cayne als Christian his true and Lawfull executor of all the rest of his goodes moveable and unmoveable and further sd that shee had well deserved it Testes Jo: Cannell juratus The Exrx: sworn in Court Evericke Quay absent in forme of Law John Kaighin jurata pbatum est et solvit 1s ---ed from ---Cain 12 The wittnesses haveing declared upon oath, that they --- Jony Cain understood that the Testators mind was, that his wife --- Xtian X should have the tuition of his child & goods till she came to Lawfull age, The Court hath therefore ordered the tuition of the said childs estate and goods unto her accordingly, who hath given in pledges for the good usage of the said child and forthcoming of her goods, as alsoe to pay all debtes & Legacyes and to discharge the office Capt: Tho: Christian & Dan: Mcylrea their Exrs: and Admrs: sub paena ---- As wittness there hands the 10th ffeb: 1687 Tho: Christian Dan: Mcylrea [next page] ffebury the 7th 1695 This writeing wittnesseth that I Margrett Caine, haveing this day aggreed wth my loveing Mother, touching my fathers porcon of goods due to me, Be it therefore knowne by these prsents that I the foresd Margrett Caine have this day possest my selfe, and am very well satisfied, wth these perticlars here exprest in my sd porcon due to me by the death of my father, Wm Caine, to witt halfe the mylne halfe the crop of corne halfe the teame of oxen halfe the housbandry gears halfe of all the housall stufe wth halfe Beads and Bead steeds wth halfe of all the cloathes and furniture there unto belonging, and halfe of all the horses, the wollen and linen wth ye silver spones excepted, and to afirme this to be my act and deed I have subscribed my name and usall mark the day and yeare abovesd Margrett Caine my mark M signed in the prsents of me Tho: Christian March the 11th 1695 The above Margt Cain being at Lawfull years came this day to the Records and doth acknowledge the Receipt of the above parti- culars from the hands of her mother, and that in Liew and satisfaction of her ffathers goods left her in his will, and doth therefor exonerate and discharge her sd mother & pledges of the same for ever verte [next page, on the back of the above:] as witness her subscripcon the Day and year within menconed Margrt: Caine her X Coram me Johan: Curghey Archidi: Registraris
