Archdeacon Will 1688A #03 German will of William Killey of the Burne & also Ballahowin in Balladoyne treen, died 4 May 1688: 
Summary: 2nd wife [xxxx Killey alias Cannell alias xxxx] is alive, his only child [John] was left 6d [an indication that he is married, per 1691 Composition Book, 
he was born about 1631], 3 grandchildren living with him, executrix is the granddau married to Thomas Cannell, stepdau Averick Cannell; relative Robert Killey left 
a steer, Captain Woods is owed for the tithe, [Richard] Ellison was owed 40s, witnesses: William Cooper & Robert Boyde / Boddaugh.
Self & son: 1691 Composition Book, German: William Killey of the Burne was entered for / compounded for farmland, & in 1691, his son John Killey was tenent of it, 
with lives in being John Killey aged 60 years (born about 1631).
Self & son & relative Robert &c: 1691 Liber Vastarum, German: William Killey was entered for farmland of 3s 4d yearly rent in Balladoyne treen (total rent 13s 4d) 
and he passed over the 3s 4d rent to his son John Killey, and John sold it to his friend / relative Robert Killey, Annexed deed dated 22 September 1690: John Killey 
of KK German sold for £4 English a fourth part of a tenement of Ballnahown to friend Robert Killey, if Robert keeps half the team (that is, those bought of John 
Killey), then during time John holds that the place will supply fodder; witnesses William Craine & Henry Killey. acknowledges for the £4 (in 3 installments) from 
Dorothy [Killey alias] Quirk to John Killey & annexed agreement between John Killey & Dorothy [Killey alias] Quirk regarding keeping an ox, Dorothy pays 10s.
   Will of above Dorothy: ArW 1703A #21 German will of Dorothy Killey als Quirk, died 4 November 1699: husband xxxx Killey is not mentioned, 3 children:  son & 
   heir Robert Killey, son Henry Killey, dau Catharine Killey, also: John Killey, witnesses: John Killey & James Crellin, pledges: William Craine senior & xxxx.
Mention of son John & of relative Robert Killey ArW 1689A #101 German will of Catharine Cubbon alias Christian, died before June 1690: husband J--- Cubbon is 
alive, dau Jane [married Robert Killey 3 Aug 1680 German], Daniel Christian, Robert Christian, grandson Robert Killey, also John Killey Balnahowin, witnesses: 
Daniel Christian & Dorothy Creere, pledges: Daniel Christian and William Christian.    
Relative: German parish register: Robert Killey married Jane Cubbon on 3 August 1680 in German.
?Son: German parish register: John Killey na Hown, buried 6 March 1724/5.

4 other children underage, witnesses: William Caine & Ann Wattterson.

   Grandson: ArW 1722A #17 German will of John Killey, died 20 April 1722: brother William, brother Gilbert Killey, father John Killey of Ballahowin, cousin 
   Henry Kaighin son of William Kaighin, also:  Catharine Kaighin, people who owed testator money: John Quilliam Patrick Crellin of Beary, Silvester Mylchreest, 
   John Cowin, witnesses: Thomas Watterson & Matthew Curghey, pledges: John Dawson & Thomas Watterson.
NOTE, that the Old Typed Index records William's surname as 'Killip', but the 1688 German defuncts records the name clearly as 'Killey'. The microfilm copy 
is very dark on the right top side where William's name is recorded, so that only 'Will' is legible and the 'K' of his surname is vaguely legible.

German 1688 This is affirmed to be the last will & testamt: of Willm Killey who depted this life the 4th of May 1688, being in p----[dark] memory. first he committed his soul to God & body to Xtian buriall. Ittm: he declared yt he ought 40s to ----[dark] Ellison for which he had a pcell of land --- m-------[dark] & paid upe[?] thereout, but ye decead apport--- it -------[dark] paid out of his goods; Itm: he declared yt he ought to Capt Woods for tyth, and also 9s yt he ought to in ----[dark] besides 20s yt he ought for this years rent all wch was ----[dark] be paid out of his goods & crop--- --- by ye Executr: It: he left to his stepdaughter Averick Cannell on hois----[dark] if --- she paid or putt one in her stand[?] with her ----[dark] Itm: to his three grandchildren yt were in ye house ----[dark] left to each of them a sheep, & to Robt Killey ----[dark] steere; It: he left to his wife ye white faced hei----[dark] for legassie; Ittm: he left to ye Minister a sheep ----[dark] he left to his only child 6d legasie.
